COVID-19 Booster Update

Feb 7, 2023

Western Health will be offering the Pfizer bi-valent COVID-19 vaccine to children aged five to 11 beginning February 6, 2023. As well, the Moderna bi-valent vaccine will be available for individuals 18 year of age and older.

Children who have not received a booster since September 21, 2022, or whose last vaccine was at least 20 weeks ago, are now able to receive this bivalent vaccine through a Western Health vaccination clinic. Individuals who received a booster after September 21, 2022 do not need an additional booster at this time, even if it has been 20 weeks or more since their booster.

Appointments for Corner Brook, Stephenville and Port aux Basques can be booked online. Individuals in other areas can call their local public health office to arrange an appointment. Walk-in vaccinations will be available at the Corner Brook Valley Mall on February 8-9 and February 15-16 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Appointments can also be made through participating pharmacists and physicians for individuals 12 years of age and older.
