Medical (Diagnostic) Imaging Services

Medical Imaging Services include all examinations such as general x-rays, computed tomography (CAT Scan) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasounds, mammograms, and some nuclear medicine examinations.

Medical Imaging Services are used to help health care providers detect a problem, diagnose disease or injury and to determine how well treatments are working or to measure results over time.

Western Health provides a full range of medical imaging services to the residents of the western region. 

• Not all examinations can be completed at all sites.
• The wait time for some examinations may vary by facility.

You may want to have your test completed at the hospital nearest your home; some tests may have shorter wait times at another hospital. Talk to your doctor to see if this is an option for you.

Wait times for Medical Imaging Services are based on the next available appointment for a non-urgent outpatient examination. As a result, Medical Imaging wait times are estimated wait times. In some cases patients will wait less than the reported time and in other cases some patients may be required to wait longer. The wait times are updated monthly.
