*New* Western Memorial Regional Hospital

The new Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook opened to patients and clients on June 2, 2024. The modern 164-bed, seven story acute care hospital provides quality patient care with individual inpatient rooms, state-of-the-art treatment rooms, and enhanced diagnostics systems.

• The hospital design has single inpatient rooms with a spacious accessible washroom. The layout allows for patient and family privacy while improving infection prevention and control.
• Medical imaging has increased its capacity with a second MRI machine, two additional ultrasound machines and one additional echo cardio machine, which helps with diagnosing heart issues.
• Expanded Chemotherapy Services and Radiation therapy will be provided through Cancer Care Western.
• The surgery and procedure unit has an additional endoscopy suite.
• Renal care programs has potential capacity for up to 24 dialysis patients, an increase from 15 in the former hospital.
• The mental health units have improvements to inpatient areas with added family spaces, a fitness room, a relaxation room, and access to a secure outdoor terrace.
