Service Disruptions Expected over the Next Month and Routine Bloodwork Appointments Cancelled Throughout the Region for the Remainder of this Week

Jan 4, 2022

Western Health is advising that there may be disruptions in services over the next month as staff members may be moved to other program areas which require more support.

This is due to an increase in numbers of individuals, including staff, who are diagnosed with COVID-19, and to support vaccination efforts. Western Health will contact patients whose appointments need to be rescheduled.

In addition, all appointments for outpatient laboratory services (i.e., blood collection) in the Western Health up to January 10 at all locations have been cancelled. This temporary change is being implemented due to increased staffing demands throughout the organization, including for testing. Appointments will go ahead for patients scheduled for INR, transplant blood work, urgent, or chemotherapy blood work; these patients should go to their appointment at the scheduled time.

Patients will be called to reschedule appointments. If you have not received a call to rebook your appointment by January 17, please contact us to reschedule your appointment at:

  • Western Memorial Health Clinic, Deer Lake Medical Clinic, Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, LeGrow Health Centre, call 1-833-459-0873.
