Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services Offers COVID-19 Spring Booster Vaccinations

April 14, 2023:  Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services advises that spring COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be available throughout the province beginning on April 17, 2023. COVID-19 bivalent vaccine will be offered as a spring booster dose to those individuals who are eligible:

  • Adults 80 years of age and older;
  • Adult residents of long-term care facilities and other senior congregate living facilities;
  • Adults 18 years of age and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised; and
  • Adults 65 to 79 years of age, particularly if they do not have a known prior history of COVID-19 infection.

The spring booster dose is recommended for eligible individuals at least six months from the last dose of COVID-19 vaccine administered. Western Zone (formerly Western Health)

Individuals in Corner Brook and surrounding areas may book an appointment at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital location by visiting the Gov NL vaccination page or by calling toll-free 1-833-703-5470.

Individuals outside of these communities may book by calling their local community health office.

Eligible individuals 12 years of age and older can also receive COVID-19 vaccine, including bivalent booster doses, at participating pharmacies and physicians’ offices free-of-charge.

The public is reminded that they should not schedule an appointment for a vaccine if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. If they are experiencing symptoms, they should complete a COVID-19 Assessment by clicking here. 

Public health measures continue to be in place for the protection of those receiving their vaccines as well as for health-care staff. Individuals are required to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms at the entrance, be required to wear a mask, and observe good infection prevention and control practices.
