Enhancements to the Daniel’s Harbour Medical Clinic have been completed through an investment of $285,000 by the Provincial Government. The clinic is now re-opened to patients.

                                           Daniel’s Harbour Medical Clinic Re-Opened

Enhancements to the Daniel’s Harbour Medical Clinic have been completed through an investment of $285,000 by the Provincial Government. The clinic is now re-opened to patients.

“Our government is committed to providing quality health care services throughout the province, especially in rural areas,” said the Honourable Susan Sullivan, Minister of Health and Community Services. “We have made significant investments in health care infrastructure to ensure that residents can receive services as close to home as possible. It is essential that we continue to invest in facility upgrades to ensure the most efficient and effective delivery of health care services.”

The recent renovations to the Daniel’s Harbour Medical Clinic will benefit both patients and staff. Additions to the clinic include a new waiting area and exam rooms, physician’s office, and an accessible washroom. Exterior improvements include new roofing, windows and siding as well as electrical and plumbing upgrades.

“We are pleased with the improvements in the Daniel’s Harbour Medical Clinic”, said Dr. Susan Gillam, Chief Executive Officer, Western Health. “The changes will allow for significant improvements in the delivery of health services in the Daniel’s Harbour area.”

Hours of operation for the clinic are: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Appointments can be made by contacting the medical clinic by telephone at 1-709-898-2314.

Budget 2011 Standing Strong: For Prosperity, For Our Future, For Newfoundland and Labrador furthered the Provincial Government’s commitment of advancing health infrastructure with a total investment of $272.2 million, which includes $200.6 million for new and continuing construction and redevelopment projects, $50 million for new equipment and $21.6 million for repairs and renovations.
