Vaccination Appointments Encouraged for Children Aged 5 to 11 Years

Jan 25, 2022

Western Health is encouraging families to book appointments for vaccination for their children aged 5 to 11 years old.

Appointments are currently available for first or second dose at the following locations:

  • Burgeo Fire Hall – starting January 25
  • Valley Mall, Corner Brook – January 31
  • Roman Catholic Parish Hall, Deer Lake – starting Feb 2
  • Port aux Basques Lions Club – starting January 26
  • Norris Point Town Hall – starting January 26
  • The Hub, Pasadena – January 28
  • Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, Port Saunders – starting January 27
  • Stephenville Lions Club – starting January 26

Appointments for clinics can be booked online here. Those unable to book online can schedule an appointment by calling 1-833-703-5470 toll free. The schedule for Western Health vaccine clinics can be found here.

Western Health will also be providing first/second doses to children in school settings. Consent forms will be sent to parents later in February to determine if there are children who require vaccination at school. Dates of school vaccinations and other details will be communicated in advance through the school.

To be fully vaccinated, children require two doses of COVID vaccine, with a minimum of 8 weeks between doses. Children aged 5 to 11 must not have received any other vaccine in the two weeks prior to receiving the COVID vaccine (i.e., the flu shot or other vaccines).

If your child has special needs and requires accommodation in a different location/setting, please reach out to your local public health nurse.
