Community COVID-19 Testing Sites Wrapping up in Codroy and Port aux Basques
Western Health would like to thank residents of the Codroy and Port aux Basques area for participating in community testing clinics for asymptomatic people this week. There is currently no indication of community transmission of the COVID-19 virus in the Codroy and Port aux Basques area. Testing for asymptomatic individuals will end at these sites today. The public health investigation is ongoing and the results of community testing and information from the broader investigation are being assessed. During this time the Codroy/Port aux Basques area from South Branch to Rose Blanche will remain in Alert Level 4.
If you completed a request for COVID-19 testing and do not have any symptoms, you will not be booked for a test at this time. However, we will continue to monitor the situation and if further testing is required in the community, you may be contacted. Western Health continues to provide COVID-19 testing throughout the region for individuals with one or more symptom. Everyone is reminded to follow public health measures including wearing masks, staying home when sick and supporting employees to do the same, practicing good hand hygiene, staying home as much as possible unless necessary for work and other essential activities, and following provincial public health requirements and recommendations.
