The symptoms for COVID-19 testing have expanded.

Testing is available for anyone with two of the following new or worsening symptoms:
·         Fever (or signs of a fever such as chills, sweats, muscle aches and lightheadedness)

·         Cough

·         Headache

·         Sore throat

·         Runny nose

·         Painful swallowing (new)

·         Unexplained loss of appetite (new)

·         Diarrhea (new)

·         Loss of sense of smell or taste (new)

COVID-19 testing is now also available for anyone any who has small red or purple spots on their hands and/or feet (new).
If you meet these criteria for COVID-19 testing, please stay home and contact 811. You may visit www.811healthline.ca to use the self-assessment tool, or if you are not able to use the online tool, call 811 directly. This will verify whether you should be tested for COVID-19, and if required, will help you to get an appointment for testing.

Public health nurses are providing in-home COVID testing throughout the Western region. Drive-through testing is also available in Corner Brook. If you are referred for testing, public health will arrange an appointment either in your home or at the drive- though testing site.

Western Heath would like to thank the public for following public health measures and helping to curb the spread of COVID-19.
