Visitor Restrictions at Western Memorial Regional Hospital

Jan 29, 2018

Please be advised that temporary visitor restrictions are in place at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. The visitor restrictions are in place due to a number of patients on the Medicine Unit (3A) with influenza like illness.

Visitor restrictions are a series of infection control measures put in place to reduce the risk of spreading infectious diseases which are common in health care facilities. They are designed to help keep clients, families, staff and visitors healthy and safe.

Visitors can help reduce the spread of illness by:

•             Cleaning your hands before entering the unit and after visiting your loved ones.

•             Visiting only one patient.

•             Not visiting if you are experiencing flu-like or gastrointestinal symptoms.

Immediate family members of patients on Medicine Unit (3A) should call 637-5000 Ext. 5401 or 5402 for further direction about visitation.

Western Health would like to thank the public for their co-operation during this precautionary measure.
