MANAGER OF PATIENT SERVICES
EMERGENCY AND OR/SURGICAL SUITE
Western Health requires a Manager of Patient Services on a permanent basis at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL for the Emergency Department and OR/Surgical Suite. Reporting to the Director of Patient Services at STRH, this position provides leadership in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating program activities while managing resources effectively. The individual in this position works in an ever-changing environment that focuses on meeting the core mandate of providing emergency medicine and OR/Surgical care. The incumbent focuses on meeting the needs of the population served, the empowerment and engagement of team members, and the provision of high quality care in keeping with best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: The successful candidate will be a nurse registered with the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador. A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing as well as five (5) years’ experience in emergency or surgical care nursing is required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of emergency medicine and the surgical suite (OR, RR Endo, PAC/SDS). Previous leadership/management experience is an asset but not required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and provide evidence of fostering a positive work environment through team building. A collaborative leadership style, strong communication skills, effective problem solving, and decision making skills are necessary for success in this position. The ability to work independently, lead an interdisciplinary team and demonstrate computer skills including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, presentations, internet and e-mail is also required.

SALARY SCALE: In accordance with the Management Pay Plan.
