                                75 Hours per pay period

HOURS OF WORK:  0830-1630 Hours; Monday to Friday.  Flexible hours may be required as well as some evenings and weekends.

DUTIES:  The position is accountable to the Director of Health Promotion and Primary Health Care for the effective planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating of cervical cancer programs; the provision of expertise in the area of cervical cancer and women’s wellness; and the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive regional program of education, quality management and services for promoting the Cervical Screening Initiatives.

The Regional Coordinator will work with regional, provincial and national health partners, agencies, and community groups to create improvements to cervical screening programs in the community.  The major challenge is to implement the communication plan and to develop a framework for expanding recruitment strategies throughout the region.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  Candidates must demonstrate a strong knowledge of women’s health issues including cervical cancer, cervical screening, program surveillance, health promotion concepts, community development, program development, evaluation, statistical analysis, epidemiology, strategic planning, adult learning principles and research principles.

Candidates must also demonstrate strong abilities in the areas of time management and communication.  The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships is essential.  Experience working with a broad variety of health partners within the province and nationally would be an asset.  Experience in strategic planning, proposal development and evaluation is required.  Required knowledge and abilities will be acquired through graduation from an approved university or college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, five years’ public health nursing experience and current registration with Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
 
Note:  If no candidates meet the above noted qualifications the employer will consider candidates who have a Bachelor of Nursing and two years Community Health nursing experience.
 
Note:  Extensive regional travel is required; applicants must possess a valid driver’s license.  The use of a private vehicle is a condition of employment.

SALARY SCALE:  $66,280.50 to $81,393.00 per Annum.
