Community Health Nursing provides programs for people of all ages in private homes, clinics, schools and other community sites. Programs inform, assess, educate and support individuals in the community and offer screening, referrals, and follow-up services. Services include Child Health Care such as childhood immunizations, vision/hearing screening, developmental screening and education sessions on nutrition, dental, smoking, childbirth, prenatal/postnatal education, reproductive and sexual health.
Community Health Nursing provides breastfeeding education to students, prenatal and postnatal clients. Community Health Nurses provide extensive breastfeeding support through home visits and telephone visits with clients. In some areas, Community Health Nurses offer breastfeeding support groups either at their work site or by linking with community groups such as Family Resource Centres.

As well Community health Nursing provides Communicable Disease programs to help reduce the amount of contagious diseases in the community (such as chicken pox, measles, influenza, meningitis, head lice, scabies and HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases).
