Western Health wishes to advise the public that the flu assessment clinic, previously established at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, has been moved to the former Regina High School, Mount Bernard Avenue, Corner Brook. This change was made to accommodate the increase in the number of patients needing to be seen with flu like symptoms.
The flu assessment clinic will be open Monday to Friday (9:00 A.M. to 12 Midnight) and Saturday and Sunday (8:00 A.M. to 12 Midnight).
Patients visiting the flu assessment clinic are asked to sanitize their hands and put on a mask upon entering the clinic which is located at the back of the former Regina High School. Masks and hand sanitizer are available at the entrance of the clinic.
The patients will be seen by either a physician or nurse practitioner who will determine appropriate treatment.
H1N1 vaccinations will not be provided at the flu assessment clinic.
The public is reminded that the H1N1 vaccination program has begun in the Western Region this week for health care workers and the next week for high risk groups.
This move will be effective, Friday, 30 October 2009 at 9:00 A.M. If people have questions or concerns please call 1-877-632-H1N1 (4161).
