Western Health would like to advise the general public that health services in the area are resuming as the State of Emergency imposed by the Town has been lifted. A State of Emergency had been declared in the town earlier this week as a result of a major water break in the community.
Effective immediately, LeGrow Health Centre is open for visitation during regular visiting hours. Acute care and outpatient services at the facility are now operational, which includes chemotherapy and wound care.
People who had their appointments and procedures cancelled as a result of the State of Emergency will be contacted by Western Health staff to have their appointment rescheduled.
Patients and residents who were transferred to alternate facilities within the Western region are being transferred back to LeGrow Health Centre as soon as possible with consideration given to weather and road conditions.
Western Health will like to take this opportunity to commend its staff and partners who worked to ensure safe, quality care for the people of the Port aux Basques area.
Western Health would also like to thank the public for their support and co-operation.
