Western Health commences upgrade to region’s MRI Scanner - Apr 3, 2008

Western Health would like to announce that the MRI at Western Memorial Regional Hospital will cease operation for 3 weeks effective April 7th, 2008. Patients scheduled for an MRI during the downtime period have been re-booked and called with their change in appointment time and date.
Western Health would like to announce that the MRI at Western Memorial Regional Hospital will cease operation for 3 weeks effective April 7th, 2008. Patients scheduled for an MRI during the downtime period have been re-booked and called with their change in appointment time and date.
 
“This down time is necessary to make room improvements and upgrades to the system, which will then offer improved image quality,” said Sheila Freake, Regional Director, Diagnostic Imaging. “As well, this upgrade will significantly enhance breast imaging for the women of our region.”
 
“We are always striving to offer the best, state-of-the-art technology that we possibly can to the people we serve,” said Susan Gillam, CEO of Western Health. “Upgrading this machine will allow us to do just that in terms of MRI technology.”
 
Once the upgrade to the MRI at Western Memorial Regional Hospital is completed, MRI operation will resume to its 12 hours per day, five days a week operation.
