Western Health would like to advise the public that the Interfaith Home, Memory Land and Newfoundland Units, has a visitor restriction in place due to a respiratory illness among the residents of those units. Visitor restrictions have been put in place as a precautionary measure. This action is being taken to prevent a further spread of this illness.
Visitation guidelines have been established for special circumstances, such as cases involving residents or patients receiving palliative care. In those cases, visitation will be permitted at the discretion of nursing administration only and family members are encouraged to call the Interfaith Home prior to visiting.
Western Health appreciates the support of the public and thanks them for their cooperation.
People who have had vomiting and diarrhea or other flu like symptoms are asked to refrain from visiting any of Western Health’s facilities. Individuals with any of these symptoms should rest at home, drink fluids, practice proper hand washing with hot water and soap, and if the symptoms persist contact their physician.
