Visitor Restrictions Lifted at Protective Care Unit - Feb 11, 2011

Western Health would like to advise that the visitor restrictions have been removed on the Protective Care Unit at Corner Brook Long Term Care Home. Visitor restrictions had been put in place earlier this week due to an outbreak of influenza-like illness.

Western Heath asks that people who have flu like symptoms refrain from visiting any of its facilities. Individuals with these symptoms should rest at home, drink fluids, practice proper hand washing with warm water and soap, and contact their physician if the symptoms persist.

To prevent the spread of infection in any institution in the Western Health region, we ask the public to wash/sanitize their hands when entering or leaving any of Western Health's facilities.

Western Health would like to thank the public for their cooperation in helping prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
