Dr. J. I. O'Connell Centre
The J.I. O’Connell Centre is a 76-bed facility located in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. It has 68 long term care beds, 18 of which are the Western Newfoundland Veterans Pavilion, and an 8-bed adult rehabilitation unit located on 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. The 5th and 6th floors located at Western Memorial Regional Hospital are long term care units and are associated with the J.I. O’Connell Centre. The 5th floor is a 21-bed secure care unit for persons experiencing severe mental impairment and/or organic brain disorders, which warrants a secure and protected environment. The 6th floor has residents who require complex long term care.
