Each year during the month of September, the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre Foundation in conjunction with Steele Communications, organizes the annual Radiothon that is broadcasted over the local radio station, CFGN. All proceeds are in aid of priority medical equipment.
The Radiothon has become the largest annual public appeal to raise funds. The event encompasses two full days of on-air time over three radio stations in our region (CFCB, CFGN and CFSX), and is hosted by Steele Communications.
The actual broadcast requires the assistance of many volunteers throughout the region as well as Steele Communications staff, who along with the volunteers, prepare for the annual event months in advance and go well and beyond the call of duty. The Radiothon continues to be the major fundraising public appeal for the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre Foundation.

LeGrow Health Centre Foundation raised $200,020.95 at the Radiothon held Oct 1st & 2nd, 2010
Tree of Love
Each year during the Christmas season a tree is set up in the main lobby of the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre and decorated with bulbs purchased in memory of loved ones. Adjacent to the tree is located a Book of Remembrance in which all the names are placed. Just days prior to Christmas a special carol and memory service will be held in the lobby of the Health Centre for the lighting of the bulbs.
July or August is a great month to have a round of golf at the beautiful NaCreige Golf Course in the lovely Codroy Valley. Each year the Foundation in partnership with the golf course offers a game of nine holes, lovely lunch following the game and great giveaways. A Hole-in-One can get you $10,000.
Penny Barrel
In 1995, A big barrel was located in the lobby of the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre and residents of the South West Coast deposit their loose coin into it. In 1997, a tractor was used (due to its weight) to transport the barrell of money to the local bank of Montreal for counting $2,080.77 was deposited which consisted mainly of pennies. Since then, we have made small deposits from the barrell consisting of $120.00, $311.00, $611.26, $497.40 and $1,360 (for a grand total of $4,979.73).

Recycling boxes are placed in the lobby at the hospital and the Medicine Shoppe. Please support your local hospital Foundation and drop off your old cell phones and ink cartridges.
