The Cervical Screening Initiatives Program for women of Newfoundland is coordinated for delivery in all of the Regional Health Authorities (RHAs). A Provincial Advisory Committee structure supports the direction and implementation of the program. Committee members represent medicine, nursing, laboratorys, data custodians, consumers, health policy expert and regional health authorities. Additional provincial committees work to address core issues such as cytology laboratory quality, colposcopy, clinical management and expert recommendations.
Each health region has a Regional Advisory Committee structure to enlist a similar multidisciplinary approach for regional and community partners in the regional implementation of the program. As well, each region has an Education and Recruitment Sub committee to support health promotion and education.
